Password Expiration Reminder

Plan password expiry dates for a rotation interval and download reminders as an .ics calendar file for Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar.

The .ics file contains one all-day event per reminder and imports into Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar. Nothing about your password is stored in it.

What is Password Expiration Reminder?

Enter when a password was set and how often it must change; the tool lists the upcoming expiry dates with a reminder date before each one and creates a calendar file you can import into your calendar app.

How to use Password Expiration Reminder

  1. Enter the Account or system name (optional, used in the calendar entries).
  2. Pick the Password set on date and the Change every (days) interval.
  3. Set Remind me this many days before and the Number of cycles.
  4. Review the table, then click Download calendar (.ics).

Example

Input
Set on 2024-01-01, change every 90 days, remind 7 days before, 3 cycles
Output
1. remind 2024-03-24, expires 2024-03-31
2. remind 2024-06-22, expires 2024-06-29
3. remind 2024-09-20, expires 2024-09-27

When to use Password Expiration Reminder

Use it for systems that enforce expiry (corporate VPNs, legacy domains, certificates and service accounts) so you are not locked out. For personal accounts, prefer strong unique passwords and change them only when needed.

How Password Expiration Reminder works

Expiry date n = start date + n × interval days, reminder = expiry − reminder days, all as UTC calendar dates. The .ics file follows RFC 5545: one all-day VEVENT per reminder (DTSTART;VALUE=DATE), with a summary like 'Change password: VPN' and the expiry date in the description, lines folded at 75 octets.

Common Use Cases

  • Getting calendar reminders for a 90-day domain password policy
  • Scheduling rotation of shared service-account credentials
  • Planning API key or database password rotation
  • Tracking expiry for compliance audits

FAQs

No, each cycle is a separate all-day event so you can adjust or delete them individually.
