SHAKE

Extendable-output functions (SHAKE128, SHAKE256)

SHAKE128 and SHAKE256 are the extendable-output functions (XOFs) of the SHA-3 standard: you choose how many output bits you need. They are useful for key derivation, deterministic pseudo-random output and protocols that need variable-length digests. Choose SHAKE256 for 256-bit security and SHAKE128 when 128-bit security is enough.
