What is Case Converter?

How to use Case Converter
- Type or paste text into the Input box.
- Choose a style in Convert to.
- Copy the converted text from Output or download it as a .txt file.

get_http_response_code

When to use Case Converter
Use it to fix text typed with Caps Lock, format headings, or rename variables, CSS classes, URL parts and environment variables. Title Case capitalises every word, including short words like "of" or "and"; if you follow a specific style guide (AP, Chicago), adjust those words by hand.
How Case Converter works
Upper and lower case use the JavaScript Unicode case mappings, so accented and non-Latin letters (é → É, ß → SS, д → Д) convert correctly. Title Case capitalises the first letter of every word and lower-cases the rest; Sentence case lower-cases everything and capitalises the first letter of the text, of each line and after ., ! or ?. Programming styles work line by line: each line is split into words at spaces, punctuation, lower→upper transitions (camelCase humps) and acronym boundaries (getHTTPResponse → get, HTTP, Response), then the words are rejoined with the style's separator and capitalisation.
Common Use Cases
- Fixing text accidentally typed in CAPS LOCK
- Turning a sentence into a variable name (camelCase, snake_case)
- Formatting headings in Title Case
- Creating CONSTANT_CASE names for environment variables
- Converting a list of names to kebab-case for CSS classes or file names
FAQs
Does it keep accents and non-English letters?
Yes. Letters such as Vietnamese ế or German ß keep their accents; for example "xin chào thế giới" in camelCase becomes xinChàoThếGiới.
How are acronyms handled in camelCase and snake_case?
A run of capitals followed by a capitalised word is split before the last capital, so XMLHttpRequest becomes XML, Http, Request (xml_http_request in snake_case).
Does Title Case follow AP or Chicago style?
No, it capitalises every word. Style guides keep short words like "a", "of" and "the" lower-case, which needs a manual touch.
Are multiple lines converted separately?
Yes. Programming styles convert each line on its own, so you can convert a list of names in one go.
