What is Business Days Calculator?
Counts the working days between two dates, or finds the date a given number of business days later. Weekends are configurable (for example Saturday–Sunday or Friday–Saturday) and you can exclude the public holidays of a chosen country and region.
How to use Business Days Calculator
- Choose Count between dates or Add business days.
- Enter the start date and either the end date or the number of business days (negative goes backwards).
- Tick the weekdays that are your Weekend (non-working) days.
- Optionally choose a country (and region) under Public holidays of to skip its public holidays.
- Read the result, the calendar and weekend day counts and the list of holidays that were excluded.

When to use Business Days Calculator
Use it for delivery estimates, payment terms, notice periods and SLA deadlines. Company-specific closures and half days are not included, and holiday data should be checked against official sources for legal deadlines.
How Business Days Calculator works
The tool walks through the dates one day at a time using UTC day numbers. A day is skipped if its weekday is ticked as weekend or if it is a public holiday of the selected country, taken from the open-source date-holidays data (multi-day holidays are expanded, regional holidays included when a region is chosen). In count mode the start date is always counted and the end date when Include end date is ticked, matching Excel NETWORKDAYS. In add mode the start date is not counted, matching Excel WORKDAY.

FAQs
Are the start and end dates included?
When counting, the start date is counted and the end date is counted while Include end date is ticked (like NETWORKDAYS). When adding, the start date is not counted (like WORKDAY).
Which holidays are excluded?
Only holidays of type ‘public’ for the selected country (and region, if chosen). Observances and optional holidays are not excluded.
Can I use a Friday–Saturday weekend?
Yes. Tick any combination of weekdays as weekend days; at least one day must stay a working day.
Is the holiday data downloaded from a server?
The holiday library is loaded as part of this site when you select a country; your dates are not sent anywhere.
