About AlgoKit

AlgoKit.dev is a collection of 414 free online tools in 21 categories, built for the small, frequent jobs in a developer’s day.

What AlgoKit is

The tools range from SHA-256, Keccak and AES to JSON formatting, unit conversion, CSS generators and time-zone planning. They are meant for quick tasks – check a hash, decode a token, convert a payload, generate test data – without installing software or creating an account.

How the tools are built

  • Client-side first. Most tools are written in TypeScript and run entirely in your browser, using the Web Crypto API and well-established open-source libraries where they exist. Your input is not uploaded.
  • Network tools are the exception. DNS, WHOIS, IP, certificate and website checks need a network request; the Privacy Policy lists which service each of them contacts.
  • Documented. Tool pages explain what the tool does, how to use it, how it works and where its limits are, with examples and answers to common questions.

How the tools are tested

  • Hash, encoding and encryption tools are checked against published reference test vectors, for example from NIST FIPS 180-4 and FIPS 202 and the relevant RFCs.
  • Converters and calculators are covered by unit tests with known values and edge cases.
  • Automated browser tests (Playwright) open tool pages, enter input and verify the output, so regressions are caught before changes go live.
  • Reported bugs are reproduced, fixed and, where possible, added as new test cases.

Languages

The site is available in 11 languages: English, 中文, Español, العربية, Indonesia, Português, हिन्दी, 日本語, Русский, Français, and Tiếng Việt. Navigation, category pages and site pages are fully translated, and Arabic is displayed right-to-left. Detailed guides for some individual tools are still being translated.

Free to use

AlgoKit.dev is free, with no account and no paywalled features. Running costs may be supported by advertising, as described in the Privacy Policy.
