What is World Clock?

Example

Kolkata – UTC+05:30 – live time such as 14:05:09
The time shown is the current time when you open the page.
When to use World Clock
Use it to keep an eye on the time of remote teammates, clients or family. To convert a specific future time, use the time zone converter; to find a meeting slot, use the meeting planner.
How World Clock works
Every second the page reads the current instant and formats it for each zone with Intl.DateTimeFormat and the zone's IANA ID, so daylight saving changes are applied automatically. The offset is computed by comparing the zone's wall-clock time with UTC, and the difference from your time compares that offset with your device's offset. The list of zones and the clock format are stored in localStorage.
Common Use Cases
- Distributed teams checking whether colleagues are online
- Traders following market opening hours
- Keeping track of family time zones abroad
- Support teams covering several regions
FAQs
Where is my list of clocks stored?
Only in your browser's localStorage. It is not sent anywhere and is not shared between devices.
Why are some offsets like +05:30 or +05:45?
Several zones use half-hour or 45-minute offsets, e.g. India (UTC+05:30) and Nepal (UTC+05:45).
Is the time accurate?
It is your device clock converted to each zone, so it is as accurate as your system time.
