Wide Text Generator
Convert text to fullwidth (vaporwave) characters like Hello World using Unicode halfwidth and fullwidth forms. Copy and paste anywhere for free.
ASCII characters are replaced by their fullwidth forms (U+FF01–U+FF5E) and spaces by the ideographic space U+3000.
What is Wide Text Generator?
Converts ASCII letters, digits and punctuation into their fullwidth versions, the wide characters used in Chinese, Japanese and Korean typesetting. The spaced-out "aesthetic" or vaporwave look stays when you paste the text anywhere.
How to use Wide Text Generator
- Type your text into the Input box.
- Tick Keep normal spaces if you do not want wide ideographic spaces.
- Copy the wide text.
Example
Hi 1!
Hi 1!
When to use Wide Text Generator
Use it for aesthetic posts, album or playlist titles and retro designs. Fullwidth characters are distinct from normal ones, so they break search and URLs, and some sites trim or convert them. To convert fullwidth text back, use the Text Cleaner with Unicode normalisation (NFKC).
How Wide Text Generator works
Every printable ASCII character from ! (U+0021) to ~ (U+007E) is shifted by 0xFEE0 into the Halfwidth and Fullwidth Forms block (U+FF01–U+FF5E), so A becomes A and 1 becomes 1. Spaces become the ideographic space U+3000 unless you keep normal spaces. Letters outside ASCII, such as é or Cyrillic, have no fullwidth form and are left unchanged and counted.
Common Use Cases
- Vaporwave and aesthetic social captions
- Stylised playlist or album names
- Retro-style titles in designs
- Making a word stand out in a chat
FAQs
How do I convert fullwidth text back to normal?
Paste it into the Text Cleaner and enable Normalize Unicode (NFKC) – fullwidth forms are converted back to ASCII.
Why are accented letters not widened?
The fullwidth block only covers ASCII characters, so letters like é stay normal width.
What is the ideographic space?
U+3000 is a space as wide as a CJK character, which matches the width of the converted letters.
