Italic Text Generator
Turn text into ππ‘ππππ, πͺπ΅π’ππͺπ€ π΄π’π―π΄ or π©πππ ππππππ Unicode characters that stay slanted in bios, comments and chats without formatting.
Uses Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols (U+1D400βU+1D7FF); italic h is U+210E. Digits have no italic forms. Screen readers may read these characters letter by letter.
What is Italic Text Generator?
Converts Latin letters to italic-looking Unicode characters from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, so the slant survives in plain-text fields. Choose serif italic, sans-serif italic, or bold italic in serif or sans.
How to use Italic Text Generator
- Type your text into the Input box.
- Select a Style.
- Copy the italic output.
Example
hi
βπ
Italic serif β the italic h is U+210E
When to use Italic Text Generator
Use it for titles, quotes or emphasis in social posts and bios. As with all Unicode "fonts", screen readers and search do not treat these as normal letters, so avoid them for important information.
How Italic Text Generator works
Letters AβZ and aβz are mapped to the italic ranges, e.g. serif italic A at U+1D434 and a at U+1D44E, sans italic at U+1D608 and U+1D622. The serif italic h is a reserved gap in that block, so the tool uses U+210E PLANCK CONSTANT β, which is the official italic h. Digits have no italic forms and accents stay as combining marks. Unsupported characters are left unchanged and counted.
Common Use Cases
- Book or film titles in social media posts
- Quotes and emphasis in bios
- Stylish usernames and display names
- Captions where formatting is not supported
FAQs
Why does italic h look different?
Unicode reserved the italic h slot because β (U+210E) already existed as the Planck constant; it is the correct character and is used here.
Why are numbers not italic?
The italic styles in Unicode do not include digits, so numbers stay as they are.
Is this the same as cursive text?
Cursive/handwriting style is the script style available in the Bold Text Generator; italic is a slanted version of the normal letters.
