Fake Data Generator

Generate realistic fake test data: names, emails, phones, addresses, companies and birth dates in 8 locales. Export JSON, CSV or SQL INSERT; seed for repeats.

All records are fictional: names and places are combined at random, emails use the reserved example.com/.org/.net domains and US numbers use the fictional 555-01xx range.

The same seed always gives the same data.

What is Fake Data Generator?

Create realistic but fictional personal records for testing, demos and screenshots. Choose a locale (US, UK, Vietnam, Spain, France, Germany, Brazil or Japan), the fields you need — ID, UUID, names, gender, email, username, phone, date of birth, street, city, postal code, country, company, job title — and export up to 1,000 rows as JSON, CSV or SQL INSERT statements.

How to use Fake Data Generator

  1. Pick the Locale and the Number of rows.
  2. Tick the Fields you want.
  3. Choose the Format (JSON, CSV or SQL INSERT with a Table name).
  4. Optionally enter a Seed to get the same data every time, then click Generate and copy or download.

Example

Input
Locale English (United States), 2 rows, fields ID, Full name, Email, Phone, City, Format CSV, Seed demo
Output
id,fullName,email,phone,city
1,Michael Jones,michaeljones73@example.org,(983) 555-0112,"Boise, ID"
2,Patricia Jones,patricia.jones68@example.net,(421) 555-0178,"Madison, WI"

When to use Fake Data Generator

Use it to fill development databases, test forms and imports, create demo accounts and make screenshots without exposing real customer data. Do not use it to create fake identities or to deceive anyone, and do not expect the combinations (city + postal code + phone) to exist in reality.

How Fake Data Generator works

Each record combines common first names, last names, streets and cities of the chosen locale at random, with locale-specific formats for addresses, postal codes and phone numbers (Vietnamese and Japanese names are written family name first). Emails and usernames are derived from the name, transliterated to ASCII, and always use the reserved domains example.com, example.org or example.net (RFC 2606); US phone numbers use the fictional 555-01xx range. Without a seed, randomness comes from crypto.getRandomValues; with a seed a deterministic PRNG (mulberry32) is used so results are reproducible. CSV fields are quoted when needed and SQL strings are escaped.

Common Use Cases

  • Seeding a development database with users
  • Testing CSV import and form validation
  • Creating demo data for screenshots and sales demos
  • Producing reproducible fixtures for automated tests with a seed

Security Note

Fake data protects privacy in non-production systems. Never mix it with real customer records, and do not use generated identities for sign-ups or verification.

FAQs

Can generated emails reach a real person?

No. All addresses use example.com, example.org or example.net, domains reserved for documentation and testing.

Why use a seed?

The same seed, locale, fields and row count always produce identical data, which is ideal for repeatable tests and shared fixtures.

Are the addresses real?

Cities and street names are real words of the locale, but they are combined at random, so a given address is not expected to exist.
