Lowercase Converter

Convert any text to lowercase instantly with Unicode-aware rules for accented, Greek and Cyrillic letters. Line breaks and punctuation stay unchanged.

Example: Hello World → hello world

Output

Each line is converted separately. Words are split at spaces, punctuation, _ - . / and camelCase boundaries; acronyms such as XML stay together and digits stay attached to the previous word.

What is lowercase?

The lowercase converter changes every uppercase letter in your text to lowercase while leaving spaces, punctuation, digits and line breaks exactly as they are. It works with all scripts that have letter case, including accented Latin, Greek and Cyrillic.

  2. The lowercase text appears instantly in the Output box.
  3. Click Copy to copy it.

Example

Input
Hello ÀB
Output
hello àb

When to use lowercase

Use it to normalise e-mail addresses, tags, keywords or text typed with Caps Lock. To create identifiers, use snake_case or kebab-case instead, which also handle separators.

How lowercase works

The text is converted with JavaScript's String.prototype.toLowerCase(), which applies the Unicode default case mapping (for example À → à, Σ → σ/ς at word end). No words are split or joined, so the length and structure of your text stay the same. Locale-specific rules (such as Turkish dotted/dotless i) are not applied.

Common Use Cases

  • Fixing text typed with Caps Lock
  • Normalising e-mail addresses and usernames
  • Preparing keywords or tags
  • Comparing strings case-insensitively

Security Note

Everything runs locally in your browser; the code you paste is not uploaded.
